Criminal profiling -
Basic training
Information:
The training introduces the subject of criminal profiling of unknown perpetrators of murder. Is it possible to describe the perpetrator of a murder, rape or other serious crime in a situation where we do not have direct evidence against the suspect? If so, how can this be done? How can a valuable description of the perpetrator be prepared if there are no witnesses to the crime. How do investigators know how old the perpetrator may be? If no one saw him. Why did the perpetrator commit such a crime? What was the basis of his motivation? What prompted him to commit a brutal murder? Was the murder planned or was it the result of an impulse that the perpetrator could not control? How can one understand all this without knowing the perpetrator? Why did the murderer use this particular tool to kill his victim? Was this the first time the perpetrator had murdered someone or had he killed someone before and the most important question: will he kill again? We will try to answer all these questions and many more in the Criminal Profiling training. The Criminal Profiling course discusses real cases and events that directly contributed to the development of criminal profiling. The training presents classic profiling, also known as FBI profiling. Each of the individual stages is discussed in detail along with comments and practical tips. The training defines the issues and presents the possibilities of the criminal profiling method as a tool used in the process of detecting unknown murderers. The sections are divided thematically, thanks to which the training itself gains clarity, as well as understanding and ease of remembering the presented content. The training also includes a detailed description of the dichotomous division of criminals into organized and unorganized perpetrators. The division itself and the research underlying it have become the cornerstone of criminal profiling using the FBI method. The training ends with a discussion of real cases, thanks to which the person participating in the course will have the opportunity to observe what the criminal profiling process looks like in practice. All the content presented during the training is based on scientific papers, research and publications in the field of criminology, forensics and forensic psychology, among others. The inspiration for creating the training was the actual method used by people involved in high-profile investigations. Additionally, each section contains content for download.
